"The unspoiled beauty of the glens combined
with the rugged North Sea coast ensures that the ancient county of Angus
will provide you with the best of Scottish scenery and outdoor activities."
The pretty village of Glamis is just
3 miles from the hotel but there is whole days
worth to see and do.
GLAMIS CASTLE is only 3 miles from the hotel and well
worth a visit. As the childhood
home of the Queen Mother, it displays many interesting personal photographs
and ephemera of the Royal Family. Tours are conducted regularly throughout
the day and visitors will be touched by the lack of barrier rope and freedom
to closely appreciate everything the castle offers. The grounds are equally
impressive and well worth a wander about. Many large events are held at
the Castle annually, for details click on www.glamis-castle.co.uk
KIRRIEMUIR The home of J M Barrie
- author of the great book "Peter Pan"
- can be found in Brechin Road, and is maintained
by the National Trust for Scotland. There is also
the award winning gateway to the glens museum
GLEN ISLA Just one of the enchanting
Angus glens, lying just to the North of the hotel.
Well worth a drive around, or perhaps following
the route of 'The Country Connection' a cottage
industry collective including crafts, a pottery
and knitwear outlet. A fun and beautiful day trip.

Perthshire : Castleton
lies on the border of Perthshire and Angus.
On the banks of the silvery River Tay, in the
very heart of Scotland, you'll find the fair city
of Perth and the famous Scone Palace,
the original crowning site of the Kings of Scotland.
Perth, is well worth a visit
as is Blair Castle and its well known neighbour,
The House of Bruar. Add a trip
to Scone Palace or the nearby
racecourse, or possibly the famous
Scottish Game Fair and another
two days are easily filled.
