Golf Club) and is always happy to help with
golf arrangements, advice and bookings. We have
our own well kept 9 hole putting green and plenty
of space to practice longer shots too.
We offer a golf club and boot cleaning service,
including grip care, and if you don't want to
carry your clubs home,we can arrange for them
to be sent there for you. |

Walking: Walking in the beautiful
Angus glens is very special experience. There are five glens (valleys) running parallel to each other and all of them beautiful, peaceful and offering plenty of relatively painless hillwalking opportunities.
For beaches it is hard to beat the golden sands of Lunan bay or the cliff walks at Montrose. Broughty Ferry Beach is a blue flag beach and is close to shops and restaurants.
| The Cateran Trail is a major walk of 64 miles that follows the route taken by the lawless Caterans in the middle ages as they went about theiving cattle and just about anything else they wanted. Their legacy is some of the most picturesque paths from Blairgowrie up through Bridge of Cally and on through Strathardle to Glen Shee before turning south again to Alyth via Glen Isla, and ulitimately back to Blairgowrie again. Our sister hotel, the Lands of Loyal at Alyth, is actually on the route and a very welcome rest stop. Falconry: Falconry can be practiced
here in the hotel grounds, Elite Falconry have
a wonderful collection of majestic hunting birds
including Hawks, Falcons and Eagles. Enjoy a days
hunting out on nearby hills and wonder at the
power and skill of these fantastic creatures.

Racing at Perth: for a wonderful family day out spend
a day at Perth Racecourse, there are meetings held from April to end of September. This
beautiful
course is only 25 minutes from the hotel, with an easy route that jumps
the queue!!
Fishing, Shooting & Stalking: The
area around the hotel is amongst the finest for
these field sports giving challenge and success
without the bleak remoteness. We can put you in
touch with local agents connected with all the
local estates. We are fortunate to have good
relations
with local landowners one in particular who is
happy for Castleton guests to enjoy his beat for
some very competitively priced fishing.
Skiing: is only 45 minutes away at Glenshee but this
gives plenty of time toavoid the queues. Skis and equipment can be easily hired from Blairgowrie
on your way.
Horse riding: is offered to varying
degrees and levels, though the beautiful Angus
woods and glens. We recommend Pathead Equestrian Centre at Kirriemuir, just a short drive from the hotel

Auchterhouse Country Sports is
a wonderful facility only 15 minutes from the
hotel, which specialises in outdoor activities
such as Off road driving, clay pigeon
shooting, Quad biking, Archery and Off road Grass
Buggies.
